CCC’s One-Year Anniversary!

Dearest readers,

One year ago, Country Club Confidential teed off with a simple idea - collect and share the great stories from behind the gates of private clubs. We change the names of the clubs and the members, but the stories are all real, and to everyone who has submitted or personally shared a story, you are the engine behind this whole thing. Keep ‘em coming! 

Since then, you’ve been with us and for that we are grateful. You are the reason CCC exists. Today, instead of a story, we are going to have a quick year in review followed by a look at what’s ahead. 

September 12th, 2024

We sent 203 of you our very first story, “How to Steal $20,000 From a Country Club - And Get Away With It!” with no idea how it would be received. Luckily, those two-hundred initial CCC members enjoyed it and asked for more! Since then, each week we have sent a Thursday email with new stories and occasional character archetypes to your inbox. 

Giveaways!

After a few stories we launched our Comment Contest in the polls at the end of the story. We have given away dozens of prizes to CCC subscribers, er, members (you’re more than just a “subscriber” to us!) and will continue to do so into the future. Among the prizes have been CCC hats, a dozen LA Golf balls, golf apparel and even a Callaway Epic driver! More to come, so be sure to always read down to the bottom! 

YouTube & Instagram Launch

While we are an email-first, story driven outfit here at CCC, it is 2025 and so of course a presence in the world of social media is required. We’d love for you to join us there too - it takes just a click and helps CCC grow. If you have a minute, here’s the links - CCC YouTube CCC Instagram. We have done some fun things with our content and will continue to do so in the future. Here’s just a few of our favorites! 

Podcast

A few months ago we dipped our toe into the Podcast world with a three-episode web-series featuring our friends and fellow subscribers The Sklar Brothers. Featuring story reads by legendary actor Joe Mantegna and special guests Matt Walsh, Jay Davis and Nate Craig these videos marked a big step out of the written story telling and into visual form. What’s Next?

Glad you asked! In the year ahead we will be adding some new features like “Dear Caddie” - a Dear Abby-esque column with advice to players seeking to improve relationships with their caddies. Also be on the lookout for Cartgirl Confessions - which, let’s be honest, are mostly horror stories about golfers behaving badly. Also, a Membership Spotlight feature will be added highlighting some of our fine readers! 

And Finally…

We love doing this, and we hope you love reading our stories. However, we do need to grow and get more subscribers - and the good news is you can help! Tell a friend. Buy a hat and when people ask, “Where did you get that sweet hat?” tell them it’s from your favorite email newsletter, Country Club Confidential. Do what we do - take their phone, type ccconfidential.vip into the browser and have them put their email in. Simple as that!
